13 August 2025 – Migration and Society (MASO) successfully held a Youth Empowerment Training on Financial Literacy & Sustainable Farming.
This training followed the International Youth Day commemorations on 12 August 2025 under the theme:
“Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond: Financial Empowerment & Sustainable Farming.”
The event was officially opened by MASO CEO, Dr. Harvey Chidoba Banda, who highlighted the importance of mindset change among young people. He encouraged youth to look beyond formal employment and embrace financial literacy as a tool for independence and success.
Our Project Officers, Kingdom Chavinda and Audrey Murphy, facilitated engaging sessions filled with group discussions, inspiring documentaries, and practical lessons on saving and investment culture.
Representatives from Kholongo Youth Club, Kang’ona Youth Club, Mzuzu Youth Action Movement, Mzuzu City Youth Network, and Pakaya Initiative actively participated, sharing their excitement and commitment to passing on the knowledge gained.
Together, we are building financially smart and self-reliant youth for a better future!
