Who we are

Migration and Society (MASO) is a Non-Governmental Organization/ Consultancy Firm that was founded in 2012 by Dr. Harvey C.C. Banda and is based in Mzuzu, northern Malawi. MASO’s target audience are the vulnerable communities in Malawi’s rural and urban centers that are affected variously by both immigration and emigration activities. Its main focus is conducting research and surveys and initiating various projects in order to improve the livelihoods of the affected communities. In this view, MASO is also interested in education and economic and youth empowerment issues, especially in these migration areas. In addition, MASO also conducts research and surveys on various socio-economic issues in Malawi in partnership with stakeholders already involved in similar issues.
